One of the major international organizations needed to democratize their demographic projections throughout the world. Most of their statistical projections occur in-house yet most of the countries around the world have vital statistics of their own local populations in their respective statistical offices. They needed to have a scalable, responsive and resilient application that allowed thousands of statisticians from around the world to run their own simulation right in the web without any technical difficulties.
We built two web applications that allowed users to upload their data and the application returned the population and vital statistics projections. This allowed everyone to get their own personalized reports on their population projections, keeping their data secured and running the server-side simulations blazing fast. Behind the scenes we developed an infrastructure capable of running hundreds of projects concurrently without compromising the usability of the application.
